After monitoring Weymouth Weather website at work I decided to take the plunge as it was gusting 25-30 knots. No where near. Asked one of the locals where abouts the anenometer was that fed the site and it's apparently on a hill!! No wonder I've wasted so much petrol on the strength of those readings.

At least it was sailable this time, though 6.2 weather is a disappointment. I seem to have got the looping bug along with most of the windsurfing population and that is too big a sail to start looping.

Got the board out and noticed an ominous trickle of water coming from what I thought was a crack in the paint job on the deck infront of the mast track. A bit of investigation revealed a hairline crack about 10 cm long that is slightly soft on one side - or in other words a weak spot where the board is likely to snap. Slapped a bit of epoxy resin to stop more water getting in and went out.

Not a bad sail but the wind was very patchy. Some good jumps but it was an exercise in staying upwind. The crack was at the back of my mind so I didn't push it. I'll have to ring up K-Bay tomorrow to see if it's fixable, I hope so as it's my favourite board and I'm skint.
